Rakuten Sports Announces Sponsor Companies for “Uprising Tokyo Supported by Rakuten”

A total of six companies announced as official partners and official supporters.

Rakuten Sports, a Rakuten Group, Inc. service focused on supporting athletes around the world today, announced the sponsor companies for Uprising Tokyo Supported by Rakuten, an international skateboarding event held at Ariake Arena, Tokyo from May 26-28, 2023. A total of six companies will sponsor the event: Sumitomo Mitsui DS Asset Management and Red Bull Japan as official partners, and Noritsu Koki, Meiji, Yamaichi Shoji and Rokko Butter as official supporters.

Uprising Tokyo is an international skateboarding event in which a total of more than 80 male and female professional and amateur skateboarders from over 10 countries are scheduled to participate. The skateboarding competition will be held over three days with the qualifiers starting on Friday, May 26 and the finals ending on Sunday, May 28. The course will be designed and constructed by California Skateparks, a world-renowned company that specializes in designing and building world-class skateparks and some of the designs in the course will be inspired by actual skateboarding spots in the United States and Japan.

The competition will also be accompanied by entertainment, music and fashion events providing fans with a chance to experience skateboarding culture. The entertainment schedule will include performances by BetRay(THE D SoraKi & Yoshiki)on Friday, May 26, GANG PARADE and ExWHYZ on Saturday, May 27 and Miyu Crew on Sunday, May 28. Japanese calligraphy artist Kenshin will produce and exhibit skateboarding-influenced artwork. At the sub-arena, a skateboarding clinic with professional skateboarders and fingerboarding experience sessions are planned. In addition, street-brand goods will be available for purchase.
